Ongoing Activities

NFHA arranges for snow removal on the subdivision's 22 streets and cul-de-sacs. Plowing takes about three hours to complete. Membership dues of $80 include $60 per household for the snow fund.

Board members attend meetings of Traders Point Association of Neighborhoods (TPAN) and Pike Township Residents Association (PTRA) stay current on zoning matters and other issues of interest to our community.

NFHA posts monthly updates on programs and topics of interest to homeowners. We depend on members to update their emails for this purpose.

NFHA invites speakers to make annual meeting presentations of interest to the neighborhood.

NFHA sponsors an annual community yard sale that brings hundreds of eager shoppers to our neighborhood.

NFHA volunteers maintain the entry signs at the entrances to our neighborhood.

NFHA Crime Watch maintains an information network to help neighbors be vigilant and reduce opportunities for crime. Back to top


Accomplishments

  • 1999: Mobilized the neighborhood to oppose rezoning of the property southwest of 79th Street and Marsh Road.

  • Informed the neighborhood on developments at Intech Park south of Marsh Road and 71st Street.

  • Prepared a welcoming brochure for new neighbors informing them about NFHA and providing phone numbers of local agencies and services.
  • Initiated a community yard sale which takes place annually in June.

  • 2001: Established a Crime Watch program with 25 volunteer block captains and a neighborhood coordinator.

  • 2001: Asked the City of Indianapolis to replace faded, illegible street signs and stop signs. The City provided all new signs that spring.
  • 2007: Secured funding to repair and repaint Normandy Farm entrance signs, and supported homeowners in landscaping to enhance the signs.
  • 2007: Assisted Keep Indianapolis Beautiful with funds and volunteers to landscape the Traders Point Gateway, the greenspace surrounding the INDOT facility at the I-65 and 71st Street interchange.
